BACK HOME / BACK TO WORK.

After my trip to Sydney, i feel pretty … ok … about my swimsuit.

Tuesday was the first time i stepped foot into our studio in 4 weeks and i called it doomsday.

Suprisingly, i got alot of work done. Now if you dont remember where i left off on my blog, i left off from having a teary over how rushed my sample was (having to finish it a week before everyone else because i was leaving on the plane the next morning!) and how many problems i encountered and had to figure out.

Right now i am much much happier, after getting to work on tuesday and altering my patterns etc and producing a second sample of my base garment. – All my cotton lycra sample fabric had been used up, so please figure this hideous fabric i scrooged from studio.

So the problems i had with my first sample:

1. Need to make the front straps wider to make sure it covers the bust sufficiently.

2. Need to work out how the floaties are going to be attached – hand sewn (RAHH!) or machine?

3. And would that be before the swimsuit is lined or after?

4. Button hole stitch for the blow toggles or a little slash?

So the second sample had been completed by the end of the morning. Im a little bit concerned because i had to alter the pattern a little bit more because the fit wasnt too good, but on the cotton lycra blend, the fit was perfect with the already existing pattern?

I altered the back piece anyways, according to the second sample / im hoping that because its all stretch, even if it turns out a little smaller on the wool lycra – it will stretch? Altered the pattern anyways….

More problem solving was done today, will post up later in the afternoon!!
